ANALYSIS OF SCHOLARS’ RESULTS

Child Development and Concern Foundation (CDCF) is a child focused NGO with the vision ‘a society with functional framework for child’s growth and development’  and mission statement ‘to create awareness on the need for children’s guidance through a developmental process that leads to full realization of their potentials, and thus lead them to becoming responsible and productive adults’. The organization which is interested in contributing its quota towards nation’s development sees development as futuristic. Children as future leaders must therefore be well prepared for the future through proper guidance and quality education to unleash their potentials.

To reach good number of children for its activities, the organization has adopted 7 public primary and 6 public secondary schools with the permission of the Oyo State Ministry of Education Science and Technology. CDCF is committed to safeguarding interests of children at all levels which can best be attained by ensuring all children have equal access to quality education. As a way of achieving the objective of equal access to quality education for all children CDCF initiated a programme called ‘Adopt a School Child Programme’ (ASCP) in 2012. The programme gives opportunity for indigent but brilliant children to be adopted by various philanthropic individuals for educational support. The beneficiaries are made to go through monitoring and mentorship activities of CDCF with the involvement of their parents and teachers. The monitoring and mentorship activities are progressively done from date of adoption till end of their secondary school education and even beyond. Over 50 children have benefitted and 35 children are currently benefiting from the programme. CDCF is passionately committed to this course and have records of good performances to show for it. Apart from record of good academic performances none of our scholars have record of misbehavior in school or at home. They are regularly given Civic and Moral Education (CME).

The first set of two scholars to be adopted while in primary 6 completed primary education in 2013 and completed senior secondary school education in 2019. The second set had their WASCE in 2020. Another set also had their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2020. Analysis of their results are presented below:
